Harpers Ferry, WV – A new poll released by 35th PAC shows Patrick Morrisey defeating Evan Jenkins in the Republican primary for U.S. Senate in West Virginia. The poll was conducted by Fabrizio, Lee and Associates between Oct. 19 – Oct. 22.
According to Roll Call, which received a copy of the polling memo, Morrisey leads Jenkins on the ballot by six points, 40 to 34 percent, with 26 percent of primary voters undecided.
Morrisey begins in a much stronger position than Jenkins, with a 51 – 13 favorability rating. Jenkins is less well known with a 39 – 5 favorability rating. Only 11 percent of Republican primary voters had never heard of Morrisey, who has won statewide election as Attorney General twice, compared to 34 percent who had never heard of Jenkins.
