Harpers Ferry, WV – Conservative Republican U.S. Senate candidate Patrick Morrisey announced his campaign raised over $737,000 for the fourth quarter of 2017, with over $1.1 million cash-on-hand remaining in the bank.
Morrisey’s impressive fundraising quarter brings his fundraising total to over $1.41 million since his entry into the race in mid-July. In the third quarter of 2017, Morrisey raised over $673,000, more than tripling his primary opponent Evan Jenkins.
During that same quarter, Jenkins spent almost his entire fundraising haul and had one of the worst fundraising quarters of any highly-rated Senate contests in the country. He only netted approximately $14,000 in the third quarter after factoring in expenditures, as Jenkins’ fundraising dried up after Morrisey’s entry into the race.
Morrisey further noted that he has garnered over $87,000 in small donations so far for since July, a sign of his growing grassroots support in West Virginia.
“I am so grateful for the outpouring of support and enthusiasm we are seeing from people across West Virginia and the nation,” Patrick Morrisey said. “As I travel across the state, I hear from voters who are fed up with Sen. Manchin’s liberal policies and his failure to accomplish anything in D.C. Our fundraising success among small donors is proof that West Virginia voters are ready for a senator with a proven conservative record who will drain the swamp. I won’t let them down.”
