West Virginians for Life Endorses Patrick Morrisey for U.S. Senate

CHARLESTON, WV — This week, West Virginians for Life Political Action Committee (WVL-PAC) endorsed Patrick Morrisey for the U.S. Senate. West Virginians for Life is the leading pro-life organization in the Mountain State and is the state affiliate of the National Right to Life Committee.

“I’m honored to earn the endorsement of such a strong group of West Virginians committed to standing up for life,” said Attorney General Patrick Morrisey. “This election is too important to send a U.S. Senator to Washington who doesn’t share our commitment to the sanctity of life and to the protection of the unborn.”

Morrisey continued: “For too long, West Virginians have been told by Sen. Manchin that he is with us on the issue of life, but then he goes to Washington to vote for funding for abortion provider Planned Parenthood, to oppose pro-life judges, and to support pro-abortion candidates for president, like Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.”

“After decades of unborn babies receiving NO protection from West Virginia’s attorney general, it is refreshing that Patrick Morrisey has stood firm on the side of life,” writes Dr. Wanda Franz, President of West Virginians for Life PAC. “We commend him for his outstanding record of commitment to the pro-life cause and feel he would make an excellent U.S. Senator. It is important that voters recognize the stark difference between the two candidates.”

In its statement of support, WVL-PAC noted Patrick Morrisey’s pro-life record and national leadership protecting the sanctity of life. WVL-PAC offered particular praise for his commitment to “defending the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act and the Unborn Child Protection from Dismemberment Abortion Act in West Virginia.”

WVL-PAC goes on to expose Senator Manchin’s “40% pro-life voting record during the 115th Congress. Thus, pro-life West Virginians have been profoundly disappointed in his votes.”

Sen. Manchin has recently expressed concern about overturning Roe v. Wade, voted numerous times to continue funding Planned Parenthood, and supported Hillary Clinton in 2016, the most pro-abortion candidate for president in American history.

WVL-PAC also endorsed Attorney General Morrisey in his bid for the Republican nomination in the West Virginia Senate primary.
