National Right To Life Endorses Patrick Morrisey for U.S. Senate

NRLC calls out Sen. Manchin for voting “to protect the financial interests of the abortion industry”

CHARLESTON, WV — Today, National Right To Life announced it is endorsing Attorney General Patrick Morrisey for the U.S. Senate. In the organization’s endorsement, it notes “Morrisey’s position on life reflects the true values of West Virginia’s voters” and slams Sen. Manchin for being a “disappointment to pro-life West Virginians.”

This month, Attorney General Morrisey also earned the endorsement of West Virginians for Life and has garnered support from the pro-life Susan B. Anthony List.

“All life is to be cherished and protected, so I’m honored to earn the endorsement of the National Right To Life,” said Attorney General Patrick Morrisey. “The men and women of West Virginia know I have a record of standing for the unborn, fighting back against pro-abortion radicals, and delivering victories for life.”

Morrisey continued: “Unlike Sen. Manchin, who continues to be an ally for abortion provider Planned Parenthood and has expressed opposition to pro-life judges, West Virginians know and trust that I will always stand on the side of life.”

“National Right to Life is pleased to endorse Patrick Morrisey for the U.S. Senate. Patrick Morrisey’s position on life reflects the true values of West Virginia’s voters,” writes Carol Tobias, National Right to Life president.“Many West Virginia voters will be disappointed to learn that while Joe Manchin claims to be pro-life, he has a dismal 44 percent pro-life voting record in his career as a U.S. senator.”

Attorney General Patrick Morrisey has been a national leader in the pro-life movement advocating for life and building multi-state coalitions to defend the unborn. Morrisey also played an essential role in advocating for the passage of the Pain-Capable law in West Virginia.

Following the news of the recent U.S. Supreme vacancy, Sen. Manchin expressed concern about overturning Roe v. Wade. In recent years, Sen. Manchin has voted numerous times to continue funding abortion-provider Planned Parenthood, and in 2016, he supported Hillary Clinton, the most pro-abortion candidate for president in American history.
