Republican Patrick Morrisey of Harpers Ferry, Jefferson County, is running for governor of West Virginia.
Morrisey won the state’s GOP nomination during the May primary with 33.37% percent of the vote. He bested a crowded field of other GOP hopefuls, including former state lawmaker Moore Capito, businessman Chris Miller and current Secretary of State Mac Warner.
“I’ve spent years fighting for the people of West Virginia, standing up to federal overreach, cutting red tape and delivering real results.”
“As Attorney General, I’ve taken on the opioid crisis, enforced our laws fairly and pushed back against excessive government regulations that hurt West Virginia jobs. I’m running for governor to continue the fight for hardworking families, improve education, create jobs, and make West Virginia the shining state in the mountains where opportunity is abundant for all.”
